Welcome to Day 4 of The Cycle, a 10-day email adventure.
I’m popping into your inbox every day between June 21-30 to talk to you about the building block numbers of 1-9, as well as our collective yearly cycle number, 10.
For paid pals, I’ll also be sending out my second diary entry on Day 6 for Days 4-6!
As I shared in the introduction, we are going to embody number energies, and feel our way through a cycle. These words—embody, feel through—are intentional choices, hand delivered by the numbers, themselves. They want to be experienced.
If that is not something you can give to yourself and these numbers right now, that is okay! This is evergreen information. Plus, part of the initial creative download of this series was to turn it into a digital zine, so it will be there for you when you’re more available and ready.
But if you want to get to this now, or you need a little more convincing… I have chosen these dates with intention!
Today is June 24, 2026, which is a numerological 22/4 day.
Taking time out of our day to touch in with 4 energy will then allow us to go out and approach the day with new knowledge and awareness. Perhaps we’ll see opportunities and tensions we would not have before attributed to being in a 4 day. It's this awareness that can help us begin to observe new patterns, as well as make intentional changes.
This takes a combination of awareness and action. We have to have both clarity and courage to get what we want, but also what we need. To have the experiences we need to have in order to be living, breathing, blinking, loving, human beings on this planet, who are unafraid, in 2026, to still claim some kind of life.
It’s with this attention to detail, and sustenance of spirit, that we meet the number four.
THANK YOU FOR READING COMMON DENOMINATORS
I want to grow this space, so if you’re liking what you’re reading, please consider sharing it with a friend or five! I’m also tending to this goal through 1-on-1 numerology readings, new shop offerings, and other upcoming goodies.
I’m also going to be sending updates of my own process to my paid pals, as well as starting a thread in The Commons for those who wish to share. So, if you do want to engage in the present-tense, you’re welcomed to upgrade your subscription here to read and join!

FOUR (4)
Yesterday was a lot, huh? A lot of expression, a lot of expulsion. A lot of getting it up and out.
Now we’re here, and it's a bit of a mess, to be quite honest.
What do we do with any of it?
We swing back out of the head and back into the feet. We put our practical hat back on. We consider how we are going to build anything at all with the materials now lying in front of us.
Four is structure. It is systems and foundations and sturdiness and stability and construction. Four is a meticulous, detailed energy. If the number three is the clay itself, then the number four is the sculptor, who says, Okay, I will take what is raw, and I will make something out of it. It is the editor, who takes the draft and says, I see what this could be, and I believe we can get it there.
Four energy is not without hope. It sees the value here. It just says that this form might not be the form. It reminds us we are still in the beginning of the cycle, and we are not yet working with a finished product.
Four's generous reminder is that everything, including us, are works in progress.
One is being.
Two is feeling.
Three is expressing.
Four is editing.
There is an inherent optimism in this because the vision is held. Four says, It is a reality somewhere, we are just not there yet. To get there, we bring form to the formless. We must take matter and make it accessible. Four asks, If you can't use it, how effective can it truly be?
This is a critical process, especially if you're attached—to who you are, what you think, how you feel, what you made, what happened to you, etc. Four does ask for a certain detachment, or a more secure attachment, in order for you to weather the storm of what comes next.
Four says, It could be better. That can be hard to hear, because it means you're not done. Sometimes, we do really want to just be done. We want our first draft to be what gets published. We express ourselves in one session of talk therapy, but lament not experiencing immediate behavioral changes and relational healing? It does not work that way, and that is the doubled duality of four.
It's not done, but also, it is always enough, as it is.
You are always enough, as you are, and you are always a work in progress.
PROMPT: When you consider the concept of a work in progress, what part of your body lights up? Do you notice any narratives floating across your mind? Do you gravitate towards the work that’s been accomplished or what is still to come? Is there anything that helps you to tip the scales back into balance?
Four deals with authority and an embodiment of power. Four says, This is what we should do.
There is an assertion of authority in the act of editing, of revising, of taking stock and formulating a plan, which says, I know what to do; I know what's best.
There's also the flip side, in which we feel as if we are not able to access or embody power. Four rules the gatekeepers, and those who are kept outside, who feel as if they must prove themselves worthy, or always be living up to their potential value. Who also might feel an inherent tension between wanting feedback, but not necessarily wanting notes.
Four energy teaches us to practice. It asks, You’ve experienced and expressed, but do you understand craft? Do you know structure? Four says, Keep going. It is a furthering of the process through discipline and strategy.
PRACTICAL MAGIC: How often do you think about your spiritual cosmogony? What are the roots of your practices? If you don’t know, it is imperative you find out and name your foundations. You don’t have to make it up either, although you always can. Go back to the foundations of what’s known—Paganism, Buddhism, Indigenous wisdom, Gnosticism, the Greeks—and see what resonates. If you already know, revisit your roots and see if anything needs revisions.
One asked us to be available. Two filled that space with feelings. Three wants us to attempt to communicate just what the fuck is going on. Four tightens our screws until we can stand on our own.
Four is a critical, clerical energy. It helps us to harness the flood, and catch our breath and our bearings. It is as tenacious as it is tedious, and provides crucial support and a plan with which to go forth.
Four is the experience of editing.
We’re doing from here on out, but that doesn’t mean we forget to be, feel, and express.
That said:
Today is for editing.
Four (4) through the Senses
Four (4) looks like a morning routine, plotting out a garden and building the beds, practicing scales on the piano, revising a creative project, a color-coded spreadsheet, lighting a candle in a church sanctuary, going through your expenses and reassessing your budget, a brick wall, an intense breathwork session, a fly stuck in amber
Four (4) smells like dew-damp dirt, sawdust, an Epsom salt bath, cow manure, burning incense in a room with no windows, your mother’s perfume
Four (4) tastes like a well-proportioned salad, your favorite family or childhood recipe, stale popcorn, a craft beer or cocktail, the adhesive on a stamp or envelope, chocolate chip cookies with sea salt sprinkled on top, that one moldy blueberry
Four (4) feels like the silence of a float tank, a panic attack, lying starfish on a big comfy bed, the course ridges of desert rose quartz, absolute certainty in the face of absurdity, admonition by an angry god
Four (4) sounds like the cry of a newborn through a baby monitor, a construction site fully at work, the clack of typewriter keys, the sound dial-up internet makes for those of us old enough to remember it, wind through a misty mountain pass
Four (4) asks questions like What does safety feel like in your body? Why does even the inquiry feel like death? What do you need in order to explore this question? How could you get even 4% closer to dropping your defenses?
CREATIVE CYCLING: This is the day you revise. This is not the day you finish; it’s not even the day you begin again. Bust out that old draft and read it with fresh eyes and a fresh red pen. Organize your supplies or projects. Restock your snack cabinet. Take a look at your planning document, goals, and timelines and reassess whether or not they’re practical. When feeling called to self-critique, go outside and be with a tree.
Four (4) on the Scale
Four (4) Day: Practice box-breathing, i.e. inhaling for four counts, holding for four counts, exhaling for four counts, holding for four counts. (If you have panic disorder or are prone to panic attacks, please use caution when engaging with breathing exercises that include holding the breath. Safety first!)
Four (4) Week: Make an appointment with a financial advisor, or seek out a more accessible resource to help you address your money matters.
Four (4) Month: Try to implement a new morning, evening, or other kind of routine by building the habit daily for 28-31 days, respectively.
Four (4) Year: Make new traditions with your friends and family by repeating things enjoyed in years past, and intentionally trying new things with the hope of them catching on. Identify why it’s important to the system, such as meaningful connection, shared values, and firm foundations.
PROMPT: What, what, what are you doing? asked Sassy Gay Friend, one of my favorite video series from early YouTube. Tragic Shakespearean heroines could always count on him to burst onto the scene, interrupt their adolescent decisions, and steer them on a better path. Do you have a SGF? Do you need one? How could you be one for yourself?
Until tomorrow, just edit.
I’d love to hear from you as we go, especially if you have ideas to make our journey even juicier! And if you enjoy what you’re reading, please share it with a friend or five. I’m also going to be sharing excerpts on my Instagram, @beescolnick. Engagement and shares are appreciated there too, but I understand it’s not a platform for everyone. (I’m doing an experiment of my own right now and it’s been telling.)
xx bee
