Welcome to Day 9 of The Cycle, a 10-day email adventure.
I’m almost done popping into your inbox to talk to you about the building block numbers of 1-9, as well as our collective yearly cycle number, 10.
At this point, you know the drill (and if you’re just joining us, hi, welcome, read the introduction or a previous post), so let’s get into it:
Today is June 29, 2026, which is a numerological 27/9 day.
Taking time out of our day to touch in with 9 energy will then allow us to go out and approach the day with new knowledge and awareness. Perhaps we’ll see opportunities and tensions we would not have before attributed to being in a 9 day. It's this awareness that can help us begin to observe new patterns, as well as make intentional changes.
This takes a combination of awareness and action. We have to have both clarity and courage to get what we want, but also what we need. To have the experiences we need to have in order to be living, breathing, blinking, loving, human beings on this planet, who are unafraid, in 2026, to still claim some kind of life.
It’s with this steely determination and hard-won wisdom that we meet the number nine.
THANK YOU FOR READING COMMON DENOMINATORS
I want to grow this space, so if you’re liking what you’re reading, please consider sharing it with a friend or five! I’m also tending to this goal through 1-on-1 numerology readings, new shop offerings, and other upcoming goodies.
I’m also going to be sending updates of my own process to my paid pals, as well as starting a thread in The Commons for those who wish to share. So, if you do want to engage in the present-tense, you’re welcomed to upgrade your subscription here to read and join!

NINE (9)
We reach a conclusion.
Here, we take the final step in a long, and short, journey.
Nine is the ending and the All. It is the last of the building block numbers. A long-awaited, and perhaps dreaded, number.
The number nine says, This too shall pass. This can be a gift and a curse. A beautiful thing to hear in the bad times, when you need relief, and a horrible reminder when things are great, and you want them to last. Nine states the ultimate truth about the nature of this life experience: All things come to an end.
Just as we miss so many things about everyday beginnings, we also blink away everyday endings—they happen so quickly we don’t realize until it’s too late. People die, companies go under, projects get shelved, trees fall in the woods, and unless someone’s around to hear them, they might be lost to the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Nine, like one, can also be a blip.
If we are blessed to live a longer life, nine is the number awaiting us at the end of the road. It’ll take us the longest to fully experience in the flesh. But if nine encompasses all of the numbers that come before it, then in that way, the timeline of experiencing nine energy expands. It becomes every single moment that comes after being born.
Nine is the carrot, dangled in front of our face, leading us forward.
It’s the Exodus and the Promised Land.
Nine beckons to us across time and space, collapsing our timelines, and guiding us into our most mature, most developed, most ripened and refined selves.
One is being.
Two is feeling.
Three is expressing.
Four is editing.
Five is enjoying.
Six is recouping.
Seven is probing.
Eight is executing.
Nine is polishing.
Like raw stones, or limestone blocks, we are put through the tumbler of life, carved by universal hands until we are gleaming and worthy of being put on display.
This is a slow process.
It is worth our patience, our perseverance, and our persistence.
There is no such thing as an overnight success.
Nine makes it look easy because it has spent a million lifetimes practicing. It makes it look simple because it has studied it for thousands of years. Most importantly, it makes it look accessible because it is.
The number nine says, It may be rocket science, but I believe you have what it takes to get the hang of it.
Improvement and mastery take time, but nine reminds us time will pass anyway.
PROMPT: When you think about the process of being polished, what kinds of trials and tribulations come to mind? How does this metaphor help you to expand your understanding of your life experiences?
The number nine is the playground of the philosopher, the scholar, and the humanitarian.
It says, We’re never going to know for certain, but we can make an assessment based on what makes sense, what feels right, and what supports our lives in the here and now.
While it is a mental energy, nine is all-encompassing. It knows it would be foolish to disregard other forms of information simply because they come from sources other than the mind. Just as the number one taught us the importance of the individual, the number nine holds all of those tiny fragments in its hands and whispers words of understanding, and synthesis.
Here, we attempt to achieve whatever enlightenment means.
There is so much to learn and do on this earth. There are so many ways to experience this thing called life. Nine encourages us to act with integrity, and move with the embodied awareness of all possibilities and consequences.
PRACTICAL MAGIC: Today, combine the practices from the numbers one and two. First, call all of your energy back to you. Then, send everything that isn’t yours back to where it belongs. Do this as many times, or for as long as it takes, for you to feel Whole. This is the dance between the self and the All. Find your rhythm.
One asked us to be available. Two filled that space with feelings. Three wants us to attempt to communicate just what the fuck is going on. Four tightens our screws until we can stand on our own. Five asks us to lighten up enough to get through. Six reminds us there must be a balance of give and take. Seven puts us back in the process, but doesn’t promise it’ll be comfortable. Eight helps us achieve long-awaited lift-off. Nine hopes we wrap things up with satisfaction and grace.
Nine offers us the chance to end things on our terms, or meet unexpected endings with enough compassion and acceptance to begin again. It doesn’t shy away from much of anything, and doesn’t want us to either. The more we know, and the more we experience, the more wisdom we can glean, and the more refined we can become.
Nine is the experience of polishing.
We continue until we finish, strong or otherwise, and we stand on business.
Today is for polishing.
Nine (9) through the Senses
Nine (9) looks like doing your bedtime routine, writing the last line of a project, and old oak tree, making the final brushstroke on the canvas, a rock concert in a public park, putting the finishing touches on a craft, the swirls of green and purple in a piece of rainbow flourite, a lightbulb turning off, a mouth closing
Nine (9) smells like cannabis, tea tree oil, sulfur dioxide after lighting a match, rosemary, frankincense and myrrh, tanned leather
Nine (9) tastes like a freshly stocked lunch buffet, well vodka, a heaping serving at a crab boil, milk and honey, a Cosmic Crisp apple straight off the tree, freshly baked sourdough bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, freshly-fermented kimchi
Nine (9) feels like bursting through the ribbon at the finish line, taking the last bite of the world’s best meal and savoring every flavor, crashing into bed at the end of a long night out, fasting for religious reasons, the sensory overload of a suburban mall
Nine (9) sounds like church bells tolling, the roar of ocean waves, birdsong in the morning, a recorded lecture by a philosopher, When I say [X], you say [Y], the popping of a vinyl record as the needle skips, an ambulance siren down a long boulevard
Nine (9) asks questions like How can you pay it forward? What does it look like to hold your hand back and pull up another? What is at the root of your fear of finishing? How can you release 9% of that fear in order to reach the finish line?
CREATIVE CYCLING: This is the day you finish. You have been waiting for this day for a long time. Finish strong, and finish with flair. Have the celebratory treat prepared. Do something to mark the moment. But first, bask in the glory that are the final steps. Everything is still to come, but for right now, add your finishing touches and let yourself experience every little bit of the conclusion.
Nine (9) on the Scale
Nine (9) Day: Read a whole book from beginning to end.
Nine (9) Week: Identify a mindset, belief, or habit you’d like to release, and work all week to catch yourself in moments of activation so you can make another choice.
Nine (9) Month: Pick a mantra regarding compassion and enlightenment and say it out loud every day for all 28-31 days, respectively.
Nine (9) Year: If your personal conclusions are clear, move forward in its direction with chutzpah. If your personal conclusions are less clear, or not accessible or available (yet), move forward in its direction with chutzpah.
PROMPT: So often we reach some kind of conclusion and then we brush our hands and move on to the next. But are we short changing ourselves? What would happen if you stayed in the ending a little longer? What would happen if you let yourself savor the sweetness? Just a thought! Don’t rush yourself out of the moment you’ve worked so hard for.
Until tomorrow, just polish.
I’d love to hear from you as we go, especially if you have ideas to make our journey even juicier! And if you enjoy what you’re reading, please share it with a friend or five. I’m also going to be sharing excerpts on my Instagram, @beescolnick. Engagement and shares are appreciated there too, but I understand it’s not a platform for everyone. (I’m doing an experiment of my own right now and it’s been telling.)
xx bee
